Noise performance

The poster below summarizes the essensials of noise modeliong and characterization. Topics of this poster will be elucidated during this seminar.

The noise performance of negative feedback amplifiers can be designed using relatively simple models that comprise:

  • Equivalent-input noise sources of the controller

  • Feedback elements and their associated noise sources

The poster below summarizes this procedure. Topics of this poster will be elucidated during this seminar.

Drive capability

Negative feedback cannot be used to improve the drive capability of the controller. Hence, the static and dynamic current and voltage drive capabilities of a feedback amplifier cannot exceed those of its controller.

Temperature stability and device tolerances

Unreproducible errors that arise from device tolerances and temperature changes can be modeled with the aid of equivalent input offset and bias quantities of the controller and treated in the same way as noise.
